Central Florida
We're in a gradual cool down. This morning was windy but by afternoon the sun was out and it was really pleasant.
I went across the street and liberated a few oranges from the grove. /blink/ and also enjoyed the clouds that were zipping by. ![]() Nice day and just another reason I'm glad I don't live in Massachusetts any more. /thumbup |

Witnessed one cloud to ground lightning strike ahead of the main squall line this evening at St. Pete Beach. A few more flashes of lightning joined the moderate rainfall that moved in after dark. Not raining here in Orlando yet, but forecast calls for Strong Thunderstorms.

We did have some thunder and lightning last night. It was quite a ways off in the distance though. After last week's deep freeze, I thought I was hallucinating when the sky started lighting up. :icon_bigg

No rain in 25 days. It's really krispie out there. For the first time in weeks there's at least a slim possibility of rain by mid week. I've got my fingers crossed. Getting tired of watering every night.

Bumping this old thread now that I am back in Central FL.
![]() The rains from 91L have been piling up in many areas of the Peninsula. I have only seen about five minutes of rain and a few sprinkles today, but other areas, like Citrus County, have collected quite a lot. Flash Flood watches are in effect for most of the west central Florida: Quote:FLOOD WATCH AARoads |

![]() Had a brief downpour around 330 this afternoon. Skies were sunny again until 5, when things darkened and storms formed overhead. Had a few nice crashes of thunder to go along with a half hour of moderate to heavy rain. Things have tapered down now, but it was good to hear some decent thunder for the first time since February 24th! AARoads |

Scored another thunderstorm around 1 pm today. About a dozen or so claps of thunder and one nice peal too. A good downpour as well and the rain has been adding up. This graphic from the NWS sums it up nicely:

It really was a lackluster rainy season:
