If you had the chance create your own custom built weather software program what would you want it to do?

I would want the following features:

1. Complete tropical package to include: world wide tracking, nice graphics, hurricane model data, historical data, animation...etc...
2. Display custom GRIB fields world wide with contouring and gradient shading....using WRF, ETA, GFS and other GRIB 1 and GRIB 2 compliant data....create you own set of custom model charts.
3. Ability to automatically generate and upload generated images to a web server.
4. Decode and display radar image and be able to create you own radar regions with animation...including 3D display capability.
5. Display satellite with animation....world wide
6. Complete set of drawing tools to include weather drawing tools.
7. Compete support for all watches and warnings with customizable alerts
8. Plots custom surface and upper air maps (fully customizable).
9. Automatically downloads and databases weather data from the internet.
10. Abitity to create custom derived fields from the raw surface and upper air data and also from model grib fields.
11. Fully GIS capable (shape files etc....)
12. Create custom graphs from imported data
13. Custom scripting engine to automate all tasks.
14. Skew-T support.
15. Custom website "branding" for all images generated....
16. Enhanced severe weather analysis algorithms and the ability to create your own severe weather analysis formulas.
17. Display and manipulate all Storm Prediction Center data (graphics and text data).

Finally a price under $200.00.

Well.... what would you want?
Cheers,
Bryan

Are you talking about the product from Baronservices.com?

What about a program that you could run on your PC?

It may have been included indirectly but hi-res lightning data would be nice.

Well, I'm considering putting the required $$$ towards that investment. I have a programming team interested in doing the job and I've gone as far as having them put together some GIS related test applications to see if we want to continue this effort.

There are numerous free weather resources on the net, so I don't know if it will be worth the investment.
If I can get my initial investment back out of it, then I'll do it. I'm not really interested in huge profits, just a nice to have tool.

Cheers,
Bryan

Bryan, regarding the create your own regions radar data. I currently use a program that does that. Nexrad3. If you do go forward with it make sure you can use multiple sites in those regions.
I'm all for a program like this. Getting requests on items to be included is a great way to get an idea of what to put into it.
If/when you do get the project going I would happy to be a beta tester.
Good luck.
Dave.
