Looks the start to a pattern change with a major dumping of air from Canada

[SIZE="2"]While the details are still unclear, it is safe to say that this coming weekend looks unpleasant at best. If you have plans to travel across Oklahoma or any of the surrounding states Friday through next Monday, be prepared for dangerous winter travel conditions... Iam on my way out to get the lights down before friday gets here... over the past hour or so I have looked over some of the latest data and came up with this graphic which is not by any means set in stone but gives an idea of the possible picture we will be looking at come fri,sat sun and even into next mon as shown on the graphic by the two bright pink areas that is where i believe
the heavyest precip could occur now if its ice and or snow or just one or
the other thats the tricky part attm but of course as we go through out
the next hours and days ahead we will fine tune it as the data changes
some and iam sure it will some being this far out... but iam off to get the
lights down before this weekend gets here!! i will post an update at 5 pm
central tonight, so see ya then...

Keeping fingers crossed up here in Junction City,KS. Had one storm go east and two go west this year. The cold air has trended farther south with recent runs putting us in more snow than ice. Not ready for power outages so am hoping for the white stuff. Would be nice to have my kids do a little sledding before spring.

sorry for running late, in agreement with rolltide this is looking
big anyone who has any doubt look at the 18z run... i know again
with a disclaimer we are days out but hour by hour and day by day
as we get closer its looking bigger and bigger and more like it will
hold true. this in my opinion is the type of storm that could knock
out power for days and days in a large region and thats why iam
saying heads up anywhere from southern ks to central tx and eastward
to sw mo down into la... updated my graphic from earlyer just
a few changes and you can note that for yourself.. iam still going
through some stuff attm reviewing more data and will try having
a better maybe a bit clearer look at this around 10 pm tonight..

also note: the front i believe will punch through the region
much faster then models suggust bringing a longer chance
of frz drizzle, sleet, snow to the region.. that needs to be
watched closely.. i think the front could clear southern
and se ok by fri afternoon and be near dfw fri eve...

more at around 10 pm central

Sorry for the non-post lastnight, just reviewed data
and to me at that time still looking at the same situation
so just would have been another repeat.. i will though have
further details in the next 2-3 hours on this upcoming winter
storm as it enters the southern plains region early friday and
as if thats not enough yes another one for late mon into tues
which could bring possibly more ice and snow to north-central
tx region... still looking at possibly heavy ice accums in areas
and i will have more on this in just a bit with hopefully some new
graphics...
