i'm thankful, extremely so.

Stormlover, have you ever read any of John Locke's works, here's one excerpt.

"if man in the state of nautre is free, if he is absolute lord of his own person and possessions, why will he give up his freedom? The obvious is that rights in the state of nature are constantly exposed to the attack of others."

people don't want to be free as in, not part of a government, storm, they want to be protected.

with the internet everything is possible.

As long as the governments don't slaughter their people Im fine with whatever they want. I.E. no Stalin's, Sadaams, Pol Pots, ect.

" There is only one duty, only one safe course, and that is to try to be right and not fear to do or say what you believe." - Winston Churchill

"In the history of the world, the true test of a civilization is how well people treat the most vulnerable and most helpless in their society. The sponsors and supporters of this bill believe that abortion is wrong because unborn children are the most vulnerable and most helpless persons in our society. I agree with them." - Mike Rounds, Governor of South Dakota

people can be born into bad situations. one can always try to make things better. some people didn't want a dictator, but could do nothing about it. where i live, politics works similarly - those who want the status quo to stay the same have something to lose, if nothing else, status.

That's if things were ever peaceful to begin with. Hezbollah asked for trouble by kidnapping the soldier. Granted, I think Isreal has gone way to far now.

I do agree with you, completely, but if you think about it, has Israel EVER been rational with this type of situtation? If so, please enlighten me, seriously, I would like to know for the future.

How can you be rational with irrational people whose only goal is to destroy your country? It's easy for people to grandstand and criticize Israel now,but what do you think we would do if some terrorist group across the border in Mexico was shooting hundreds of missiles at us and killing people, and the government of Mexico let them be there and grow and do it.
