.discussion...
Cold Frontal Boundary Is Beginning To Stall ~80 Miles Offshore
This Morning. This Boundary Will Begin To Move Back To The North
As A Warm Front Due To The Development Of A Sfc Low In The Nw
Gulf. As The Low Moves Ene Along The Boundary...it Will Force The
Front To The North While Also Focing A Lot Of Moisture Over The
Warm Front Axis. This Will Cause An Outbreak Of Moderate To Heavy
Rainfall Across Northern La And Miss Starting Around Midnight
Tonight. The Boundary Doesn`t Move Much Until The Sfc Low Moves
East Of The Area Forcing The Cold Front To Move Through. This Is A
Setup For An Axis Of Continuous Rainfall From Early Sat Morning
Til Noon Sat From Eastern La Through Eastern Alabama. Once The Sfc
Low Move East Of The Area...we Will See The Cold Front Move Much
Quicker Through Here Causing The Moderate To Heavy Rainfall To
Move Through Quicker. The Sh/ts Will Be Moving Into The New
Orleans/baton Rouge Metro Areas Just In Time For Sat Parades.
Timing For The Majority Of Rainfall Over These Two Areas At This
Point Should Start Around Noon Sat And Last Through Early Evening.

Ne Wind Will Veer To The East And Weaken Slightly By Late Today.
Small Craft Advisories Will Continue Today Due To The 20 To 25
Knot Wind Speeds Over The Waters. As The Cold Front
Approaches...south Winds Will Increase To Advisory Conditions
Again And Will Stay That Way Even After The Cold Front Passes.

Wow! What a mess. Looks like it's gonna put a lil damper on Mardi Gras in the Big Easy! That's so sad. If it's one thing those peeps needed, it was a nice time to try and bring some normality back to 'em. My heart goes out. Hopefully, Sunday, Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras will shape up to be better days!

Wouldn't that be crazy if all this stays to the North of me (HUM). Looks like it's not impossible. Gonna be watching close throughout the day. Ya'll have a good one and be safe. This things gonna be producing some lightening. Hopefully no tornados though.?.

what about Thursday, do they have a chance for rain?

The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right time, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW ORLEANS LA
309 AM CST TUE FEB 28 2006

.DISCUSSION...
WEAK UPPER TROUGH OVER TX THIS MORNING WILL MOVE EAST AND ORIENT
ITSELF FROM FLA TO THE CENTRAL GULF. AS THE UPPER SHEAR ZONE MOVES
EAST...AN UPPER LOW WILL CUT OFF IN THE CENTRAL GULF AND WILL GET
CAUGHT BETWEEN TWO UPPER RIDGES TO THE SE AND WEST. THIS WILL
ALLOW A WAVE TRAIN OF TROPICAL MOISTURE TO BE FUNNELED NW TOWARD
THE GULF COAST. THE NEXT COLD FRONT MOVES SOUTH AND ENTERS THE
AREA FRIDAY BEFORE SLOWING. THIS IS WHERE MOST MODEL SOLUTIONS
DIVERGE. SOME STALL THE FRONT ALONG THE COAST WHILE OTHERS SEND IT
INTO THE GULF. THE UPPER LOW WILL WEAKEN AND OPEN INTO THE UPPER
MAIN FLOW WHICH SHOULD CAUSE THE COLD FRONT TO PUSH FARTHER SOUTH
AT LEAST INTO THE NORTHERN GULF. HOW FAR SOUTH IT GETS WILL DEPEND
ON WHEN AND WHERE THE NEXT COLD FRONT MOVES INTO THE PICTURE.
