You cant easily get a $20 Video Card for a Laptop - it is a Geforce Mobile, I have used Storm Predator but it sucks - Storm Lab Pro is Better -

I read with interest some of the posts in this thread but have the following question. Do you basically purchase the software and then point it to one of the available radar systems or are there subscription fees that also apply?

Many thanks.

No subscription fees unless you want more reliable data from Allison House .

GR uses NWS data

Stormlab ROCKS it blows gr3 out of the water. You do not have to buy a video card to use stormlab. It is easy to use I have been a storlab user for more than two years.Stormpredator sucks it is eye candy. So if you have stormlab then keep it do not change programs!Everyone has thier personal favorite and stormlab is it for me.Good Day!

I have used gr level 3 trial and I enjoyed it..Great smoothing tool, great zoom and usablilty.and good update speed. Level 2 is great for research..unfortunatly I cant run the analyst edition..prob. need a vid card thats supports shader 2.0 Storm predator is very basic..flashing function is kinda cool but yes very limited products but works good.
Weathertap is a subscription product but one thing I like about it is the quick updates features and esp. the filter to remove clutter or any color and create your own scales..
Havent used Storm ab
Accuweathers silver is pretty good kinda not user friendly but also has a filter and zoom is great with fullscreen.

The NWS server feed is built into the program. You should DL the trial if you haven't already.
