BLIZZARD OF 2013 2/8/13-2/9/13
Rhode Island is starting to feel the effects of the blizzard. Power outages are starting and the coast is bracing for more erosion in areas already affected by Sandy. The wind is picking up here and we are waiting for the lights to go out. Prepared for this just as we did for Sandy (lanterns, loads of food, booze, etc. ) but at least with Sandy, we did not have to fear being cold. We do have a wood stove insert that we had built after the Blizzard of 78 and never had to use other than for pleasure. Tonight may be the night that might show us if it really works. LOL

BLIZZARD OF 2013 2/8/13-2/9/13
James in RI got 18 inches of snow, with 12 of it being of the heavy wet variety. I watched a video he shot and on Friday there was a tree behind the neighbors garage/barn and by this morning it was out of sight. It was one of several trees around his place to come down due to the heavy snow. He said he never lost power, it only flickered a few times over night.
