Next Cold Snap?
Our local MET looked into his crystal ball and said "End of January, it is looking like we (South Central Texas) will have another Arctic cold snap."

Has anyone heard the same for their region?

It seems like a long time out for predicting weather!

Just curious

Our weather dude is saying the first part of February to expect more COLD weather.

Only people with oversized egos believe that mankind has caused global warming.

Scientific Consensus is an Oxymoron

no one knows...but it seems to be at least two weeks away...maybe more..but things are in motion to have some wild weather again in the south in Feb. The cold is buliding and we should have at least something more of a southern stream playing into it next time. I still have ice and a little snow after almost a week...but it wasn't much

The Arctic Oscillation (sp) is showing negative, like it did the first of January 2010, near the end of January into February.

That's ok. I'm going to Savannah and St.Simons next week to get away from these cold mountains for a few days. It finally got above freezing here today.I need about 5 days of mid-high 60's/low 70's for my peace of mind and well being. Then it can get cold again.

Who would have thunk it? Local MET nailed it (or got lucky!) 1/2 a month out, but can't get the forecast right when he predicts 20% chance of rain and it comes a flood or 90% chance of rain and it's dry outside all within the same week.

<just giving METS a hard time>
