The national weather service in paducah has issued an ice storm
warning...which is in effect from 6 pm this evening to midnight
cst tuesday night. The winter storm watch is no longer in effect.

A major ice storm is expected in the tennessee border counties of
western kentucky...as well as new madrid county missouri. Two
rounds of heavy freezing rain are expected. The first round will
begin this evening and continue into early tuesday morning. Up to
one inch of ice accumulation is expected in this first round.

The second round will begin tuesday afternoon and continue through
the night. Another one half to one inch of ice is expected. Total
ice accumulations from one half inch to possibly as much as 2
inches are expected.

Ice accumulations of this magnitude will cause significant damage
to power lines and trees. Roads will be heavily impacted...and
travel is not recommended. Last minute preparations should be
completed today. Prepare for the possibility of extended power
outages.

An ice storm warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Significant amounts of ice accumulations
will make travel dangerous or impossible. Keep an extra
flashlight...food...and water on hand. Ice accumulations and
winds will likely lead to snapped power lines and falling tree
branches that add to the danger.

duration event...only adding to the hazardous nature. Trees and
power lines will likely become ice covered...leading to possible
loss of power across the area. Bridges...overpasses and roadways
will become dangerous and slick at the onset of the precipitation and
may become difficult if not impossible as the hazardous icing conditions

The national weather service in nashville has issued an ice storm
warning...which is in effect from midnight tonight to noon tuesday
for an area of northwest and north central tennessee.

A developing storm system over texas will move northeast toward
the mid state later tonight. A strong high pressure centered to
our north will keep our temperatures at or below freezing
tonight...and this will cause freezing rain to occur. The greater
accumulations will likely be near the kentucky border.

An ice storm warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Significant amounts of ice accumulations
will make travel dangerous or impossible. Travel is strongly
discouraged. Commerce will likely be severely impacted. If you
must travel...keep an extra flashlight...food...and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. Ice accumulations and winds will
likely lead to snapped power lines and falling tree branches that
add to the danger.

The national weather service in louisville has issued an ice
storm warning...which is in effect from 10 pm est /9 pm cst/ this
evening to 1 pm est /12 pm cst/ tuesday. The winter storm watch
is no longer in effect.

A mix of light rain...freezing rain and sleet will begin late this
evening before changing to all freezing rain and sleet after
midnight across south central kentucky. Up to one inch of sleet
accumulation along with ice accumulations of less than one quarter
inch are expected overnight.

As temperatures warm tuesday morning...freezing rain will again
mix with rain and an additional one quarter to half inch of ice
accumulation is expected.

An ice storm warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Significant amounts of ice accumulations
