Good pic of an EWRC in action
Since I've been asked what it is a few times throughout this storm, this illustrates it quite well. You can see the new, larger eyewall building in around the old one, which has yet to dissipate. The storm was 145mph before the EWRC began, and is at 125 now. This is typhoon Sinlaku in the western pacific.

This is interesting thanks! And it definitely proves Joe Bastardi's theory (say what you want about him but this actually works) that the west pac correlates with the atlantic. Both ike and this are having weird eyewall replacement, moved WNW then turned north at the same times.
