I've been watching this for the past few days and wondering how it's not an invest. This would be amazing if it makes a comeback and is renamed Josephine! And what's also amazing is, you can see ike's outflow just a few miles to the west of it 0_o

This is why during the season you have to be like a boy scout, always be prepared. I just hope it does not head my way, I just took my shutters down on my other home.

for the north atlantic...caribbean sea and the gulf of mexico...

The national hurricane center is issuing advisories on large
hurricane ike...located about 300 miles southeast of galveston
texas.

1. An area of disturbed weather...including some of the remnants of
tropical storm josephine...is located about 350 miles east of
the southeastern bahamas. Development of this system...if any...is
expected to be slow to occur as it moves slowly west-northwestward
over the next couple of days.

Elsewhere...tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the
next 48 hours.

slowly west-northwestward.

2. Showers and thunderstorms have increased this afternoon in
association with a tropical wave located about 1400 miles east of
the windward islands. Development...if any...of this system is
expected to be slow to occur as it moves northwestward at about
15 mph.

Elsewhere...tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the
next 48 hours.

2. Showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave located
about 1300 miles east of the leeward islands remain disorganized.
While upper-level winds are currently unfavorable for
development...they could become a little more favorable over the
next day or two as the system moves west-northwestward at about 10
mph.

Elsewhere...tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the
next 48 hours.
