Folks, heres the play by play:

Your gonna have cold air coming down way far south next week. The 850 mb even has freeze lines reaching down to Florida. Watch how fast by Sunday/Monday the air temerature drops off in Oklahoma City, and Mobile by early next week. I am sure somebody somewhere will get some snow.

Next week could prove interesting in a few areas, but the period from the 17th thru the 27th, if the models verify, are going to be quite interesting, to say the least. GFS as usual overdoing (I think) the cold and storms, but it may be onto something...just not a very good winter model. However, the CMC is placing a 938 (!) low off of Boston Harbor next weekend. Yeh right. But, the models are trying to latch onto something.

Got a little side bet going with 234 that we don't see any measurable snow from Monday's clipper on LI...we might not even see flurries at all.

Yep...winter's definitely knockin' on the door now.

The only reason the GFS is changing it's mind, is because it see's the developing ridge in western Canada...the "slide effect", and with this changing NAO pattern this pattern could get ulgy but will keep my options open. This pattern could lead up to a superstorm...93' 95' come into mind.

And by the way LI phil, looks like I've got the upperhand, the air is going to be wrapping around the system, cold 850 temps and lower mins (orgin of air). Also, the lakes are going to get really stirred up, defintely could see some moisture come down her...
