I think it's the idea that Levi is a stereotypical redneck, the whole MySpace thing where he describes himself as a redneck is a dead giveaway of this. He's also a hockey player and has mad hockey hair, which is one sign that he might be a redneck.

Redneck was originally, and still in many parts, meant to refer to those who worked hard, usually on the land, for everything they had. I think it's just kind of been bastardized.
