Central Florida - Alex - 02-27-2008 08:16 PM

Two lines moved through last night, the first with the most punch and some lightning, the second with residual rain and thunder. The line that moved in consisted of a bow echo, but I'm not sure there were any reports of wind damage. Unfortunately I was still at work during the first storm, so I only witnessed it from an office window.

Central Florida - Alex - 03-15-2008 07:23 PM

Very windy today and warm, temps were near 86 earlier. No rain and no thunderstorms with the intermittent showers yesterday. Still though, we've had rainfall once or twice a week for the majority of the winter, a definitely shift from the last two winters!

We are into a boring stretch of weather, booo!

Central Florida - Alex - 03-30-2008 10:53 AM

TWC shows thunderstorms in the forecast for everyday this week, but the NWS only shows a slight chance of showers everyday this week. Major discrepancy!

Central Florida - Alex - 04-01-2008 04:16 PM

I was thinking that earlier when I looked. Thundering presently here in Lake Mary!

Central Florida - ocala - 04-01-2008 06:15 PM

Man they are just south of me now. 12 miles according to the distance calculator. I can hear the thunder and see the cloud tops, but I don't think they have enough umph to get up this way. Plus with the sun going down in about 30 minutes they should start to peter out.
I'm still hoping though.

Central Florida - Alex - 04-04-2008 12:32 PM

This week so far:

Mon. - heavy rain shower at Lake Mary, 30 mins or so; no rain in west Orlando
Tues. - thunder with lightning, no rain, Lake Mary; no rain in west Orlando
Wed. - heavy thunderstorm, Lake Mary; no rain in west Orlando
Thurs. - Rainshafts to the north and west of Lake Mary, no rain though. Another large cluster of storms in Lake and Sumter to the west, lots of lightning, but just some brief light rain in west Orlando.

So basically no rain at all here near Ocoee, but lots elsewhere this week! Crazy weather with the grass here brown but lush in green in other parts of the metro.

Central Florida - ocala - 04-04-2008 01:18 PM

Same here Alex. Close but no cigar. I thought for sure last night as a storm moved due north right at me. Of course at the last minute it died and we only got a little bit.
Since Tuesday have only managed .06.

Central Florida - ocala - 04-05-2008 03:30 PM

Well, I fired up the generator. Lightning struck somewhere and the lights went out. Don't really need it but it could use a good run.
Finally getting a little bit of rain.
