Thoughts on the rest of the season?
Katfive Wrote:Everything we've been hearing down here is that the lower Atlantic temps should prove to have a lower number of canes this season. It's too early though. Late August and September is when the season goes nuts every year, so it's not really going out on a limb for the "wishcasters" on W underground to predict that. How's Moore rebounding from the Tornando Moore?

Rebounding quite well, thanks! Smile On my way home today, I saw a house being framed by Briarwood Elementary. Also, there's another house almost complete (at least on the outside) by the other elementary school, Plaza Towers. It's nice to see!!!

All the wishcasters look at the historical numbers, and of course September is going to be the busiest month. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that one out. They can pretend all they want, but they have no clue what the future holds. Like the stock market, past history doesn't predict the future.

The FIM-7 model is shooting a storm into the northern Gulf by the 18th

While the other FIM models keep it going into Mexico.

The GFS is picking up a small something at 168 hours off Africa.

CMC has nothing through 180.

I've done that! [both used the multple quotes and forgotten how!]

I remember a post a couple of years ago on the ACE INDEX that also noted the pressure waves over the Sahara. It noted particularly the water temps over the Indian Ocean contrasted with the Atlantic.

I haven't seen anything new or interesting in the revised NOAA/NWS in recent years.
