My mom was telling me how much rain FL has been getting....naturally - we've hit dry skies up here in TN but we are heading farther West today and it looks like we may hit some pretty severe storms...

I'm getting the camera ready.
Had storms form east of downtown Orlando and west of Ocoee. They started to converge overhead, but began to peter out just as they moved overhead. We had about 5 minutes of rain, but several bright flashes of lightning and loud rumbles of thunder.

The small lake on Colonial Drive west of Apopka-Vineland Road is still drying out, considering the recent rains...
It appeared that we would not get tonight's thunderstorms over Orlando, as they formed right along I-4 but did not budge. It misted a bit to go with strong outflow winds and some rumbles of thunder, but nothing more.

Around 8:30 however, a loud crash of thunder preceded some moderate rains (about 30 minutes worth).
So y'all been gettin' wet down there? I'm on vacation in West Virginia and it was very wet late last week. Saturday night thunderstorm put down over 2.50 inches in a 2-3 hour period this on top of a very wet spring and June.

I've seen some rain on radar around Spring Hill, but not much this week. Be back early next week, so hopefully we'll have some good boomers.
Its been sporadic, but seems to storm whenever I am stuck at work. We did have one ok storm yesterday with the frontal boundary, and the air was noticably cooler in Orange County last night. We also had rainbows at 8 pm the last two evenings with back-building showers over Orlando. Still though, nothing really widespread Mon-Tues-Wed, unless you are talking about South Florida
im glad though we are in the summer time pattern of getting rain though the drought was getting really bad. I can telly ou when it will rain in Plant city when its time for me to leave work. it always does. I am glad to see the afternoon storms though. It just got done here.
Been kind of hit or miss around here. Nothing out of the ordinary. After a slow start ended up June with 6.72 inches, and 19.77 for the year. About normal really. Still, would like to get one of those downpours that Bug got last week.
Almost that time of year when you get those intense lightning storms at 3 in the morning. Love those. We had two last year that were, shall I say, LOUD!
Drove through an ok thunderstorm north of Haines City yesterday on the way to fireworks at St. Pete Beach. Otherwise was a dry drive and nothing fell here west of Orlando.

Lightning was still kicking up from two inland thunderstorms at 9 pm however, giving competition to the coastal manmade fireworks.
Thunderstorms almost hit here twice this evening: once around 7 pm as they built with the sea breeze just west of here and drifted away, and again at 10:30 in the same general location, but this time drifing to the east. I saw a few flashes of lightning to the east and it rained about 5 minutes, but alas, the storms dissipated before we could score any downpours...
Yeah those storms were just a little SE of me last night. Good light show though.
Thought they might make it up here but no dice.
Today however is looking better. At the time of this post I have a nice little complex heading this way. Hopefully it stays together.
