News Channel 8 was showing a video of the lightning storm - beautiful!

We had a good storm come our way...and drifted right over us - never giving us even a sprinkle!

Had another batch of storms move in from the east this afternoon, these with some heavy rain and about 8 or so good crashes of thunder outside the house. The rain has kept us cooler than it would have otherwise been, with highs forecast to climb into the mid 90s here in Pinellas County!
Lots of thunderstorms spread across the state yesterday. The g/f and I headed east to Indialantic by way of Polk City, Lake Alfred, Davenport, Kissimmee, and the Beachline during some serious heat. After hanging out at the beach, where the waves were incredible, we headed back west through Coca, Nova Road, St. Cloud, and Kissimmee and were in and out of storms with lots of cloud-to-cloud lightning. The storms lasted throughout the drive from Lakeland west to Tampa. Funny enough, we cross the Howard Johnson Bridge into Pinellas and it quickly dried out. I suppose that the seabreezes kept most of the rain away from here in St. Pete; its a good thing that I went elsewhere for the day, hehe.
Kick-butt thunderstorm formed over Southern Pinellas yesterday at 7:15 and moved west. Lots of lightning and some brief heavy rain followed by some crisp blue skies that constracted wonderfully against the greenery below...
60% chance of showers/thunderstorms yesterday and 70% chance of numerous showers/thunderstorms today. Not a drop of rain so far!!
Kick butt thunderstorm last night developed ahead of a cluster over Tampa here in St. Pete. The new storm syphoned all of the energy of the older storms as it moved southwest toward the coast. I noted at least a dozen vivid blue cloud to ground lightning strikes too.
NWS forecasting a wet and stormy Wednesday for Central Fl thanks to low pressure area crossing the state. Here's hoping we get buckets and buckets of rain.
What a crappy northeastern like day here in the Bay area today! Rained off and on all day, but intermittently with drizzle. Temps were kept down as the sun did not shine for even one minute. Blah!
Rainy season unfortunately is over, leaving us with hot sunny weather, still hitting 90 the second week of October, and no chance of rain. Yuck.

Overall this rainy season left me with no impressionable thunderstorms. I cannot think of one storm that had memorable lightning and thunder, loud and bright enough to knock out power or set off car alarms.

Outside of minor Tropical Storm Barry in early June, this has been a very uneventful weather year here in Pinellas.
Know what you mean. Same here in Hernando County.

The Rainy season this year wasn't much of a rainy season. A lot of dry spells and the grass this year during the summer dried up at times and turned brown which hasn't happened in my years of living here.

Some places received a lot of rain, but not here where I live. Now we're getting into dry weather again for a long time apparently.
