With last years abysmal representation of a winter in my area, I am curious if there are any thoughts on what the upcoming fall/winter will look like - not only in the Southeast, but other areas of the east.
It seems like we have been 2 months ahead all year. 90+ degrees in March. 100+ degrees in June/July. Now it's been 80+ in August and almost September. I've noticed leaves falling already when that usually doesn't start here until October/November. All I know is it's strange as heck and I can only expect the winter to be strange too.

We had lots of snow in 2010 but none at all last winter. Maybe this will be another hard winter year. That's my guess anyway based on the year so far. I don't know anything about El Nino or La Nina or which one is going on this year if either. Basically I don't know anything technical but I'm just doing like the old timers do and looking at the signs.

Lets hope someone else chimes in with their thoughts too because I'm also curious what others think. With all the Biblical flooding, droughts, etc. this year I'm not even surprised anymore of what this winter will bring.
I guaranty it will snow in Dixie at least one day, then it will be melted by sundown...

I just want it frozen solid w/ 2-5 feet of snow from N. Arkansas to Canada. That way my duck hunting in S. LA should improve over last season.

See it is all about my duck hunting in the winter. With my family second...

Also, a good hard freeze that last for a least two days sure does crimp the creepy-crawlers' population.

They feel fairly confident from certain factors that there will be more arctic air and wet conditions this winter. Also, we are in a El Nino apparently too lol. It's an interesting read.
