McCain is 72 years old and has had four malignant melanomas surgically removed since 1993. The odds of him passing while in office are higher than most presidents we've had. Now I'm not saying he WILL die in office... but, you know as well as I do, the risk is higher in this case. Are WE ready for Palin to run the country if something happens to McCain? Is SHE ready?

Obama may not have the most experience, but I can assure you he has no less than Palin. And, as far as judgment goes, I would trust Obama hands down to really think something out before Palin would.

Here's the difference, folks. It's obvious Obama is an intelligent guy. Because of that, he will surround himself with intelligent people if he makes it to the White House.

John McCain will surround himself with war buddies. He's been in the senate for 26 (?) years, and has made friendships. He's going to rely on friends... not necessarily smart people. John McCain is a war hero, and an incredible American. But does that make him a great candidate for President?

Barack Obama is a change in direction, a step from the norm. Does that make him a bad candidate for President?

And one additional nifty thing for you to think about:

You know all those difficult leaders in the middle east? Guess what? NONE of them will talk to women. They refuse to. Palin will have no voice when it comes to foreign situations. I don't know about you... but I want to rest with the fact that my President and Vice President can tag team foreign relations. How about you?

If this is the case...we should be taking a stronger look at Biden as a President becasue lets face it...a black president? Is the closet KKK in the South ready for that? I don't think so. We can all turn our cheeks and pretend they don't exist...but they do. And I can ALMOST guarantee that they would NEVER allow a President who first off isn't white and second off has a muslim name.

Think about it.

I hope that would never happen but lets face the facts....Biden is who you need to be listening to and hearing from...because if that ticket wins - HE will be our President.
It is a point being whispered around the white south quite a lot these days. A sad thing to think about in these "modern" times, but a real possibility.
Besides all that, the wheels will already be in motion for the VP should he/she be put into the position of President. The cabinet members will all be in place, all of the advisors, etc and I feel that nothing would change drastically from whatever is the status quo at the time.
True...

but, I do think about it alot with McCain too...since he is old..

Although watching last night - his mom is 96 years old...so ya never know!

My grandfather is 87 and still surviving just nice.
72 years old today is not the same as 72 years old even 20 years ago. His age doesn't really concern me; the cancer thing does more than the age.
The VP pick for McCain was a suprise. She gave a good speech.
Cindy Mccain looks better

No way! Cindy's pretty, but Sarah is beautiful!

But besides that: One of the posts made mention of the fact that Middle Eastern countries hate women and she could be ineffective. This is true.
NEWS FLASH! Middle Eastern countries hate AMERICANS!!! Since few Americans truly HATE other countries, it is a concept that is hard for us to understand.
Therefore, in my opinion, it does not matter which gender we send to represent us. They will still hate us, either way.
Cindy and Sarah .... Wait never mind
Bug--Southernbelle--I'm still likin' her. Are you?
I've been trying to NOT like her so I won't be disappointed if she's revealed to be another typical politician....but I really like her! I can't wait to see her in a debate. That'll be interesting! I do hope she'll be specific on healthcare and economy solutions. She could sew the election up for McCain if she's impressive.
