FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL
STORM FAY...CENTERED ABOUT 80 MILES EAST-NORTHEAST OF HAVANA CUBA.

AN AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER HAS FORMED ABOUT 600 MILES
WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS. SLOW DEVELOPMENT OF THIS
SYSTEM IS POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AS IT MOVES
WESTWARD ABOUT 15 MPH.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

I know it's real early and most folks are not looking at this due to Fay. But I don't like how this is starting to shape up. AT ALL.....

Same here... From some of the talk I have seen they are already saying east coast.... possibly...
This is amazing. Finally a true cape verde wave! Bertha made people think it would be an active cape verde season but nothing has developed east of the islands yet. This will be big.

Didn't Hugo really get going around this longitude in '89
The Farmer's Almanac predicts a hurricane threat for the Gulf Coast-Louisiana or Texas for Sept. 12-15. Don't know if this would be the storm or if a storm could hang around that long?
